New Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow $8.49

No faux tan smell! I just put this on and it smells amazing after an hour. The 3 day product is much smaller than the regular size and the same price. We will see how well it tans. I use many other self tanners for the gradual tan including the original Jergens Glow. Actually, I just tried this at work. Shorts will be worn on Saturday – EEK!

Custom Spray Tanning in Vermont!

I have blotch paranoia. For wedding and bikini season, I wanted to be tan without heading to the beach or a tanning booth. Also with my wintery ivory skin, I was hesitant to step right into mystic tan. My dress was a backless halter and the last thing I needed was a prominent armpit blotch.

I googled “spray tan Vermont” and the very first one was Northern Lights Tanning which is right down the road (right down the road in Vermont is about 30 minutes).

I emailed Cathy and she responded very quickly. I wanted to try an application before my event to see how my skin would react. I advise this for anyone as everyone’s skin reacts differently. This goes with anything you’re applying to your skin. 24 hours before the tan, I exfoliated with St. Ives Apricot Scrub. The morning of the tan, I shaved my legs. Don’t put any lotion or makeup on!

The spray takes minutes and then add in some drying time in front of a fan. Wear loose fitting dark clothing and let the tan set for 4-6 hours before showering. Make sure you moisturize to make your tan last! The spray usually lasts about a week. I use Ocean Potion Ever Glow. It’s a light aloe moisturizer with a gradual tan.

If you live in upstate Vermont, check out Cathy’s website at www.northernlightstanning.com. Cathy has over 12 years of experience in spray tanning. She offers tanning out of her home if you live farther than 10 miles or she can come right to you with her mobile spray tanning system.

Here are some before and after pictures of two different applications:

Now Stay Like That

At a recent wedding, I had this conversation:

Me: Is my makeup creasing?
My Husband: I don’t know what that means. Nick, what does “creasing” mean?
Nick: Kapeeshing?!
Me: No creasing.
Nick: I don’t know what that means.

When I finally found an answer, it was no. Melting makeup was definitely a concern when you’re at a wedding all day and most likely into the night. I applied my makeup at 8am and didn’t get home until midnight. 16 hours and no creasing! Or Kapeeshing!

The MAC Fix spray is worth every penny. And it’s only $10!

NYX Cosmetics

I just bought a bunch of NYX Cosmetics and they are definitely worth every penny. The Jumbo Eye Pencils and loose pigment shadows are so easy to use and can be worn sheer or be dramatic. They are long lasting and stayed put in the shower. They come off with makeup remover.

The Jumbo Eye Pencils are soft and easily blended with a brush, applicator, wedge, q-tip or even your finger. They can be used as liners, shadows and best of all a base for the pigments.

When wearing the loose shadows as a daytime or sheer look, just apply a small amount on your lid starting at the lash line and working your way up and out.

To get a very bold, dramatic shadow coverage, prime with the white jumbo pencil very lightly. Too much will crease. Then with a shadow brush and a small amount of powder at a time, apply shadows and blend out.

I used the white pencil to prime. Then I applied the Purple pigment with a small shadow brush over my lid then blending out. I then used the black pencil to smudge into my crease and evened that out with a small shadow brush. I used the black as a primer and to get a deep color with the pigment. I went over the black with the purple again, lined my eyes and finished with mascara. This look is dramatic but can be toned down or up very easily.

These are so fun to play with!!
